How many times have you been in to one of our high street favorite’s for a bra fitting only to approached by the Saturday girl with the dreaded tape measure to tell you exactly what size bra you should be wearing and come away from the store with a bra that makes you look like your boobs have gone south, or just simply feeling like they are being pushed out of the top of the bra.
A correctly fitting bra can make any outfit by giving you the correct shape and as the summer comes this becomes more important than ever as we girls shed those heavy winter clothes and bring out our sexy summer wardrobe.
A statistic often quoted is that 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra and when summer arrives boy do you see it. Sagging boobs, bouncing unsupported boobs, four boobs not two as god intended, come on girls what’s going on.
Sure the tape measure gives you a starting point, but bra fitting is so much more than this, it’s about fit and getting a cup style that’s right for you which will influence the clothes you buy.
When you try on a bra you should find that the bra band sits straight around your back and should be a snug fit, not loose or to tight and digging in. Having established this the wires under the cups should sit flat under the bust. If you find that it isn’t you may want to try a bigger cup size as your breasts should be fully enclosed by the bra cups with the wires of the cups sitting snugly under each breast against your rib cage. This is vitally important as the wires of the cups will also help to give your boobs support and help stop them flying around when you move about or walk.
If you get the right cup size the breasts should be fully enclose within the bra and you should not have four boobs showing as your breast tissue is pushed up and over the top of the cups due to the cups not been big enough.
You should also take great care when selecting the cup style of your bra. If your breast tissue has become not as firm as it once was possibly due to child birth or age you may find that a plunge cup is simply not suitable as you may feel you are falling out all the time. You may also once again end up with four boobs due to your boobs not been enclosed within the cups. In this situation try a balconnet style, or just simply a full cup bra.
Don’t be afraid to adjust your bra straps also to lift your bust, the straps should not dig in to your shoulders but should equally not slip off every five minutes.
So if you follow your instinct and these simple rules and don’t just follow what the tape measure says you will end up with a more flattering look, a better bust shape, improved posture, and thinner looking waste as your boobs will not be there and you will feel more confident.
Best of all that new summer dress or top you have just bought will look simply fabulous and you will be able to walk down the street with you head held high knowing that your fabulous boobs look great, are properly supported and are not going to fall out.
